Without clean available water, life as we know it will not exist.  Though nearly 80% of earth is covered with water, only about 3% of that is fresh water, and approximately 2% of that is ice pack.

To maintain billions of lives on earth we must be wise with our consumption of the very limited fresh water that we have available to us and be cautious about converting salt water supplies for human consumption.

Our ocean is filled with mineral and biological resources (in some cases many times the reserves available on land) yet we are depleting many of these precious reserves nearly as fast as we can discover them. There is only one global ocean, and one opportunity to manage it in a way that it will continue to produce for future generations.
